New Northwest Route
The new 2008 route starts in Ashland and ends in Galesville. Route profile - see below. The route starts up in the heart of the northwoods and finishes along the mighty Mississippi River.

Along the way you'll wind along two-lane back roads and enjoy many chances to stop and enjoy the beauty that makes Wisconsin great for biking.

I liked all that. It was great. The road markings were fantastic. I never even came close to getting lost I thought you'd clearly chosen the routes with care. There was a neat sort of cocktail party feel to the Timm's Hill rest stop. Sandhill cranes. Our celebratory steak dinner in Washburn. [prior to the grotto]… I felt that was the moment the trip started to be magical. Having one beer outside at the little league stand, The band in the cafeteria, to a towns person who came by passing out ice cream because of his excitement that people came by.
